PSE-900 Editor by Geerdes was introduced in 1987. It is a 'Pro Sample Editor', hence PSE, with a twist, being the first MIDI Sample Editor for the Akai S900. Essentially PSE-900 does not allow the editing of digital audio, but allows editing of sample data via MIDI. It consists of three parts, the first is used to manipulate those parameters of the instrument which are not directly related to the actual sound. The second part, the waveform itself can be edited, and finally the editor, which includes additive synthesis for sound modelling.
