Genwave 16 was introduced by Interval Music Systems, and distributed by Hybrid Arts. It was first reported in 1989, and supported stereo editing of 16-bit Samplers like the Akai S1000, also conforming to MIDI SDS. Again it went through various sub versioned releases, and was later packaged as Genwave, offering both Genwave 12 and Genwave 16 together.
