Following on from Master Sound, Master Sound 2 by Microdeal was introduced in 1990. Again the GUI looks much like Master Sound. It is an 8-BIT Sampler which is capable of mono sampling frequencies between 3 kHz and 30.7 kHz, and introduced the AVR (Audio Visual Research) sample file format developed by 2 Bit Systems under Microedeal. The AVR format was likely derived from the Pro Series of Samplers by again, 2 Bit Systems, and was the sample file format all Microdeal Samplers used from 1990. Compared to Master Sound, Master Sound 2 offers functions such as MIDI compatibility, STE enhanced options, 3D Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), volume control, filters and compression.
