The idea of this article is to collect information about all the different programs and files which need to be in the Auto folder. Often it is unclear which purpose a certain file / program is used to, on which position in the Auto folder it should be and which other programs may not work toghether with it.

Auto Folder Programs

Program Config File(s) Comment
cacheon.prg, cacheoff.prg Programs to turn on/off the cache of 68040 and 68060 CPUs. This is used on the Milan clone. Not sure if also used with CT60/63 boards. Some one please check and clearify.
metados.prg \auto\config.sys CD Rom driver
mint.prg, mintnp.prg, mintmil.prg \mint\mint.cfg or \multitos\mint.cfg This is the mint kernel. There is only one mint.prg allowed in the Auto folder. It should be the last program in the Auto folder. Up to version 1.15.x "np" in mintnp.prg stands for "no protection". Which means mint runs without memory protection. Starting with version 1.16 "np" is no longer required since mint has it's own boot menue now which also allows to enable/disable memory protection. Mintmil.prg. is the mint kernel for the Milan clones.
nvdi.prg ... NVDI the alternative VDI including broad printer support.
BoxKite.prg BoxKite.INF, BoxKite.HLP A replacement FileSelector. Now Freeware and also contains a few functions for COPY / MOVE / DELETE functions and more. It is non-modal and can be opened many times by many different Applications without taking up the whole machine.
fpatch2.prg This little patch ensures for compatibility of STE DMA sound on Falcons with early TOS. Not needed with latest TOS.
ledpanel.prg ledpanel.cpx A novelty yet useful aid that displays the Time/Date and also displays LEDS to show when a certain Disk is being READ/WRITTEN.
wdialog.prg ... ...
... ... ...
