The Quickshot Starfighter 1 wireless controllers are compatible with the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and most computers/consoles (Sega Master System, MSX, Atari and Amiga) that use a 9 pin style (DB9) joystick port.

Testing Basic Controller Functionality

The Quickshot Starfighter 1 wireless controllers use the same IR (Infrared) technology as a standard TV remote control. It is therefore possible to test the basic functionality of each controller using a digital camera which can see IR light (IR light is invisible to to the human eye). Firstly insert new batteries into each controller, switch the controllers to the 'autofire' or 'off auto' position to activate them. Then use a digital camera and aim the lens at the front edge of the controller. Press the buttons on the controller and you should see two lights pulse behind the screen (it helps if you are in a darkened room). Try each button to make sure you get light pulse (you also have to press the buttons quite hard) from each button that is pressed.
