PSE-900 Editor by Geerdes was introduced 1987. It was a Sample Editor with a twist, being the first MIDI Sample Editor for the Akai S900. It was the first Sample Editor for the S900, allowing editing of parameters via MIDI. Essentially PSE-900 does not allow the editing of digital audio, but allows editing of sample data via MIDI. It consists of three parts, the first is used to manipulate those parameters of the instrument which are not directly related to the actual sound. The second part, the waveform itself can be edited, and finally the editor, which includes additive synthesis for sound modelling.
