Megadrive
The Megadrive (also known as the Genesis) is a 16bit console released by Sega in 1989. It used the same 68000 processor as the ST Family with which it, along with the Amiga 500 and Super Nintendo, vied for attention in the pages of contemporary gaming magazines of the time.
Many games made for the Megadrive were ported to the ST and other platforms of the era, and vice versa.
The console market dominated by the Megadrive and Super Nintendo was the one Atari attempted to enter with the release of the Jaguar in 1993.
