Atari Emulator list. This article lists the emulators that have been written for or ported to Atari machines, and allow them to emulate other platforms.

The following table shows known emulators, which computer or console they emulate, and the Atari machine on which they will run.

Continually developed by Atari800 team. Its recent versions fully supports the Atari Falcon (and FireBee as a bonus) target again. [1]

ST/E, Mega STE

Came in the form of card that had to be installed internally, and piggy-backed onto the 68000. Was not very good for playing DOS games, but could run Window 3.0. The 386sx version was called the Vortex

Port of SDL CaSTaway to the TOS Family. First created by Peter "PeP", its most recent incarnation done by Anders "agranlund". [2]

Apparently emulates at playable speed. Ported by Peter "PeP" [3]

Atari Lynx

Software emulation, no Lynx add-ons required. Emulates at playable speed on a CT60, results on other systems not tested. Ported by Peter "PeP" from open-source Handy emulator [4]

ST. Not Falcon/TT compatible(?)

Came in the form of a cartridge, which contained Mac rom's and some hardware required for compatibility. Was quicker than original Macintosh

Spectrum ZX81

All Atari machines

Complete software emulation, no hardware add-ons required, and almost as fast as an original ZX81. Certainly fast enough to allow the playing of games. Distributed on PP98
