ADAP by Hybrid Arts, similar to Sound Designer, in as much that it was the Sample Editor to the ADAP Soundrack, a hardware ADC / DAC. Introduced in 1987 it is capable of handling 16-bit stereo samples up to a sampling frequency of 48 kHz, despite higher claims. It also provided support for the MIDI Sample Dump Standard (SDS). However in 1989 along came the ADAP II Soundrack, which offered D2D recording, much like Digidesign's Sound Designer II and Sound Tools package. This made the ADAP II Soundrack one of the first DAWs, and most likely the first for the Atari platform.
