ST BASIC was a dialect of BASIC developed by Atari and released with the first ST computers. Originally it was intended to be distributed as part of TOS, but was not developed in time.

ST BASIC was not used extensively to develop ST software due to it's buggy nature and slow speed. Those wishing to write in BASIC on the ST and other TOS machines are advised to use |GFA or STOS BASIC
