CECILE - The ultimate driver - (c) 1997-2000 CENTEK

Cécile is an ATA (IDE) and SCSI device driver, which not only allows access to hard drives of all sizes (up to 133 GB in IDE, without limit in SCSI), but also provides higher level functionalities , through commands which are added to the system functions (BIOS).Cécile accesses TOS partitions indiscriminately as PC type 4 and 6. However, access to files is limited by GEMDOS like that of the original TOS which only allows access to partitions of less than 32 MB (see documentation attached in the demo.).

SCSI

Cécile allows you to send commands conforming to the SCSI standard to all devices even if they are IDE or ATAPI devices.

Applications

This allows access to devices considered complex such as high-resolution flatbed scanners, or DVD ROMs for example, without having to write the entire driver yourself as is currently required, which considerably slows down development.

Performance

Cécile can access even the largest hard drives because it is, on the one hand, compatible with so-called long SCSI 2 commands (12 bytes) and, on the other hand, it addresses ATA / Fast ATA (IDE) drives in LBA mode (up to 133 GB theoretical).

Featuring fast transfer routines as well as exclusive hiding techniques, Cécile is also very fast.

Software

Cécile already serves as a SCSI driver for Sandrine manager software dedicated to A4 Truecolor UMAX Astra 600/610/1220s scanners, as well as Pyro audio CD extraction and CD burning software.
